For this job, we are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly colleague. The successful candidate has an affinity with the restaurant and/or hotel industry, is a team player, helpful, friendly, and is motivated to learn from a Michelin Star level.

From our THE DUCHESS waiters, we will be expected to display initiative, have extremely high attention to detail, maintain a high profile during service and promote and establish a regular customer base. As well as being passionate, our waiters must ensure that excellent quality and superb service are delivered to all guests.

Each candidate will be expected to control and manage their section in the restaurant and react promptly to any issues or complaints in accordance with company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests
• Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about the shared-dining concept, ingredients or potential food allergies)
• Prepare tables by setting up silverware and glasses
• Offer menu recommendations upon request
• Up-sell additional products when appropriate
• Communicate order details to the kitchen team
• Serve food and drink orders
• Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems to your manager
• Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
• Deliver checks and collect bill payments
• Positive attitude and aim to provide great communication skills

Requirements

• You live in Amsterdam (or nearby)
• Attentiveness and patience for guests
• Aim to deliver excellent presentation skills
• Organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
• Active listening and effective communication skills
• Team spirit
• The ability to speak English
• Flexibility to work in shifts
