The Job
As the Assistant Restaurant Manager at MR PORTER, you will work directly with the General Manager to ensure smooth daily operations while leading and inspiring the team. Your responsibilities will include assisting with team rosters, recruitment, training, and ensuring the restaurant’s service standards are consistently met. You will play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience, ensuring every guest leaves with unforgettable memories. A natural leader, you will motivate and support your team, creating an environment where they can thrive while maintaining MR PORTER’s reputation for world-class service.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in managing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service and high standards.

• Assist with team scheduling and rosters, ensuring optimal staffing and smooth shifts.

• Participate in recruitment, training, and ongoing development of the restaurant team.

• Lead, inspire, and motivate the team, ensuring they maintain focus and energy throughout service.

• Ensure seamless communication between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams.

• Handle guest requests, feedback, and any issues that may arise during service.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role in a fast-paced, fine dining hospitality environment.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team.

• A commitment to high standards of service, with a passion for hospitality and attention to detail.

• Flexible and proactive, able to adapt quickly to changing needs in a high-energy environment.

• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.

• Based in Amsterdam or nearby (flexible with commuting).
