The Job

For our restaurant IZAKAYA IBIZA, we are looking for an amazing, hands-on, passionate Sushi Chef. The IZAKAYA “family” is always striving for perfection; sparing no effort to obtain the very best products the world has to offer. From the decorations on the walls to the array of beautiful ingredients with each their own particular palate.

As our Sushi Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef and make sure you achieve the departmental goals and objectives. Furthermore, our ideal candidate has already experience as a Sushi Chef. Together with you, we strive to give our guests the ultimate satisfaction and "wow" factor.

Responsibilities

• Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
• Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
• Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards (HACCP)
• Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
• Assist in the setup of standard manuals, trial dishes and compiling recipe cards
• Assist the Head Chef in checking and ordering fresh products and dry storage items required by kitchen and other outlets

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as a Chef (preferable in an Asian kitchen)
• Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
• Familiar with industry’s best practices
• Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
• Fluent speaking in English
• Living nearby or in Amsterdam is a must
